About The Position

Crescent Electric Supply Company is seeking a Warehouse Training Specialist to provide training support for new distribution center employees, particularly during the standing up of new distribution centers. This role involves providing comprehensive warehouse and on-the-job training to all distribution center or warehouse employees, from clerks to receivers and drivers. The specialist will monitor and track training progress to ensure employees meet onboarding milestones and will travel to various distribution centers and potentially surrounding branches to deliver training. Key aspects of the role include identifying high-potential new employees, mentoring them, and partnering with subject matter experts to maintain accurate and up-to-date training content and the Crescent Electric Training Guide (CETG). Requirements

  • Ability and drive to provide the customer with a smooth and positive experience during training programs and interpersonal interactions.
  • Ability to exercise patience for fielding questions and helping users of all skill levels to understand the material.
  • Proficient in computer programs such as Zoom, and Microsoft Office Programs Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability and means to travel up to 75% of the time, with overnight stays.
  • Associate's Degree in Operations, Training, or field related to the job duties; or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of Associate's Degree.
  • 1+ year of experience working in a warehouse/distribution center environment.
  • 6+ months of experience working in a training and/or lead capacity.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of workplace safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as training support for new distribution center employees as part of the standing up of a new distribution center.
  • Provide warehouse and on-the-job training for all employees of a distribution center or warehouse, ranging from clerk to receiver to driver.
  • Monitor and track training to ensure employees meet onboarding milestones.
  • Travel to all distribution centers and possibly surrounding branches to provide training.
  • Identify high-potential new employees during training.
  • Provide mentorship to employees to ensure they receive all necessary and desired training.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to ensure training and Crescent Electric Training Guide (CETG) content is accurate and up to date.
  • Support company goals and objectives.
  • Adhere to all safety policies.
  • Maintain housekeeping, as needed.
