About The Position

The Warehouse Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering training programs to warehouse team members. This role involves conferring with management to understand training needs, coordinating schedules, conducting various training sessions (classroom, video, hands-on), and evaluating trainee progress. The trainer will also create and update training materials, monitor program effectiveness, and make suggestions for improving work procedures. Additionally, the trainer will operate a lift truck and perform material handling duties as needed, ensuring all activities comply with safety and security standards.

Requirements

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
One (1) year related experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
At least 80% cross-trained in all material handling functions preferred.
Basic computer skills.
Hand-held radio skills.
Valid State Driver’s License.
Forklift Certification.
Ability to work required schedule and arrive at work on time.
Ability to move across all shifts as needed.
Ability and willingness to work voluntary/mandatory overtime that is required during all busy seasons.
Ability to effectively communicate (in writing and verbally) in a courteous and professional manner with others.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instruction.
Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
Ability to identify and compare letters and numbers.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to read and write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of Team Members or customers of the Company.

Responsibilities

Confers with management, supervisors, and Team Members to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives, and technologies.
Coordinates training schedule with the hiring and training demands of all shifts.
Conducts daily classroom testing, video, and hands-on forklift driving evaluations.
Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as refresher and annual training requirements (e.g., SHARP, Batch Control, SAM Hazards, LOTO, Battery Changing Procedures, and forklift recertification).
Conducts group and/or one-on-one training sessions, as needed.
Evaluates trainees to measure progress and effectiveness of training.
Completes training reports on trainees.
Counsels Team Members with problems concerning “how to” perform specific tasks related to forklift operation.
Creates and updates training manuals and agendas.
Confers with management to develop training materials.
Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of all training programs.
Makes suggestions on improving work procedures.
Operates a lift truck performing various material handling duties in the facility as requested by Operations Manager or Shift Supervisor.
Performs all essential functions of Material Handler position.
Maintains reliable attendance for scheduled shifts.
Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
