About The Position

This role is for a Warehouse Technician, Mid Skilled, located at Cargill Cedar Rapids. The position involves working in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment, adhering to strict safety guidelines and procedures. The technician will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory, creating job kits, and operating material handling equipment. Accurate administrative duties and positive customer relations are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • AA degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred but not required.
  • Warehouse experience preferred, not required.
  • SAP experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to observe details at close range.
  • Ability to control machine or vehicle controls to exact positions.
  • Ability to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required.
  • Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time.
  • Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
  • Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern.
  • Must maintain positive customer and employee relations.

Responsibilities

  • Work with personnel in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment, adhering to all company/site safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Utilize SAP for creating shopping carts, SES, tracking POs, and receiving goods.
  • Receive and inspect all incoming shipments for damage and shortages.
  • Compare manufacturer part numbers with inventory system descriptions and POs to ensure accuracy.
  • Record details of each package received in the receiver log.
  • Coordinate return shipments to vendors for incorrect parts or overages, with supervisor approval.
  • Ensure all parts are stored in the correct locations.
  • Create job kits for work orders, ensuring all parts from the PO are included and sent to the correct kit location.
  • Process parts returned from kitted work orders, returning them to stock or vendor as directed.
  • Prepare parts removed from equipment for shipping and track them on a spreadsheet.
  • Perform pickups of outgoing shipments as necessary.
  • Operate equipment such as forklift trucks, carts, and hand trucks.
  • Perform job kitting, ensuring all parts are identified and kitted for scheduled work.
  • Contribute to team effort and perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with all company/customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Achieve performance expectations and participate in employee development planning.
  • Communicate with team members to assist in short- and long-range planning.
  • Meet physical requirements of the job.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Complete accurate administrative duties including time accounting, work order completion, job planning, ordering materials, workload assessment, and updating the maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
  • Work with Supervisor and Planner to ensure jobs are kitted and ready for completion.
  • Allocate resources, coordinate shutdowns, and contact vendors for plant and maintenance requirements.
