About The Position

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse & Shop Technician to support operations in Schaumburg, IL. This role combines warehouse duties with shop-based mechanical work. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, excellent organizational skills, and a willingness to learn gas end overhauls on industrial compressor equipment, with training provided.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
1+ year experience in a warehouse or fast-paced environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs routinely.
Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain an orderly workspace.
Basic computer proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and move around industrial equipment in a shop environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a warehouse, shop, or mechanical maintenance setting.
Forklift experience or certification (or willingness to be trained).
Previous exposure to industrial equipment, compressors, engines, or mechanical repair.
Technical diploma or trade certification in mechanical, industrial, or maintenance fields.

Responsibilities

Pick, package, and prepare customer equipment and parts orders for shipment.
Receive incoming shipments and verify materials and documentation.
Maintain warehouse inventory accuracy through organized stocking, labeling, and cycle counts.
Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and well-organized.
Support restocking, material staging, and order fulfillment activities.
Use mechanical aptitude to assist in the maintenance, disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of compressor gas ends and related components (training provided).
Learn and perform gas end overhauls under supervision.
Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
Assist senior technicians with mechanical work, rebuilds, and equipment preparation.
Support equipment staging, assembly tasks, and preparation for field deployment.
