We boldly go. Job Summary: The Salvage Technician/Warehouse Assistant is responsible for disassembling unused or damaged equipment to salvage functional parts for reuse. When not engaged in salvage activities, the individual will assist with general warehousing duties, including inventory management, shipping, and receiving.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in equipment disassembly, salvage operations, or warehousing preferred.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical components.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Basic computer skills for inventory management and documentation.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Time management and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble unused or damaged equipment to identify and retrieve functional parts.
  • Test and clean salvaged parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Document salvaged parts and update inventory records accordingly.
  • Dispose of non-salvageable materials in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
  • Assist in receiving, unpacking, and storing incoming inventory.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and audits.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
