About The Position

This position is responsible for efficiently operating equipment used in the Logistics Department, including all processes related to preparing seed for customer delivery. This encompasses receiving, drying, ECW processes, cleaning, sizing, inventory management, treating, packaging, and sampling. The role also requires maintaining a clean work area, warehouse, and facility, and participating in the maintenance of assigned equipment.

Ability to handle stress, especially when encountering necessary projects, deadlines, and/or high workload.
Ability to acquire Qualified Applicator Certificate.
Ability to safely operate seed treating and drying equipment, forklifts, and other warehouse machinery and equipment.
Ability to read and understand written instructions in English.

Nice To Haves

High school or college science courses desirable.
Prior forklift operation experience.
Minimum two years warehouse or related work experience preferred.
Seed industry or agricultural background desirable.

Responsibilities

Efficiently run and clean required seed conditioning, seed enhancement and packaging equipment as relevant within the Logistics Department.
Set up, operate, adjust, maintain, and clean all equipment required to inspect, label, and package products according to work orders, standard operating procedures, and manuals.
Ensure weights are accurate on all packaging orders and report any discrepancies immediately.
Meet or exceed established target throughput for assigned area(s) while maintaining quality requirements.
Responsible for proper delivery, receipt, and stocking of seed from receiving and all work centers, and completion of all required documentation and data entry.
Pull reports for cyclic testing and prepare required samples for cyclic updates.
Perform inventory movements and complete required data entry.
Perform daily cycle counts on inventory and report results to the inventory supervisor and other required managerial staff. Investigate problem areas and resolve discrepancies.
Support other Logistics workstations or company departments as assigned or approved by the supervisor or Lead. Additional responsibilities may be required while working in other departments.
Perform necessary quality checks for assigned processes, which may include seed counting, moisture testing, physical purity, and other quality assurance checks. Perform data entry, data analysis, and data recording for each process as required.
Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly work station. Proactively assist other areas in the department to maintain cleanliness throughout the warehouse.
Comply with SAI, State, and Federal Safety requirements and promote company programs that can minimize injuries, lost time, product loss, and damage.
Follow all SAI quality assurance, policies, and procedures.
Keep Supervisor or Lead informed of critical tasks not done and issues developing.
