About The Position

This role is responsible for loading finished goods for transportation according to client specifications, unloading inbound materials, and tracking products and raw ingredients using a computerized inventory system. The position requires safe operation of a forklift, inspection of finished products, and accurate loading of trucks. Documentation of the loading process, creation of pick lists and Bills of Lading, and conducting cycle counts are also key responsibilities. The role may involve operating a semi tractor-trailer on company premises, moving trailers, and operating a trash compactor. Understanding product ticketing and customer palletization requirements, utilizing the computerized inventory system and scanners for reports and pick lists, and picking/shipping LTL and truckload materials are essential. The position also includes assisting Receiving & Inventory personnel, maintaining equipment and work areas, adhering to GMPs and SOPs, and reporting any food safety or quality concerns to a supervisor. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma and/or GED required.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is desired.
Basic computer skills required.
Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form.
Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner.
Basic math skills to include addition and subtraction.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to read and follow simple written instructions.
Must obtain Alphia forklift certification.

CDL preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Safely operate forklift with accuracy and efficiency.
Inspect finished product for stack quality, count accuracy, lot code accuracy, and defects before loading.
Load trucks with finished product according to customer requirements and document the process.
Make pick lists and Bill of Ladings.
Conduct cycle counts.
Operate semi tractor-trailer to move trailers on company premises.
Move trailers and yard truck, as necessary.
Operate trash compactor.
Understand product ticketing and customer palletization requirements and how to interpret that information.
Use computerized inventory system and hand-held scanners to run reports and create pick lists.
Pick and ship material both LTL and truckload.
Cycle counts finished goods after each run.
Assist Receiving & Inventory personnel.
Maintain assigned equipment and cleanliness of all areas.
Use GMP’s to maintain plant standards and SOPs for all products.
Notify a supervisor or a lead employee of any situation or observation that may adversely affect food safety and/or quality.
Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
