About The Position
Hughes Supply, a trade name of Hajoca Corporation, is seeking a Warehouse Teammate for their Buckeye, AZ location. Hajoca Corporation is a large, privately-held wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies, founded in 1858. The company operates on principles of "Service, Integrity, Reliability" and values relationships of trust and support. Hajoca operates in a decentralized environment where each location, called a Profit Center (PC), is managed as a small business. A typical PC includes a warehouse, counter, sales office, and sometimes a showroom, conducting business under unique trade names with a customized approach to each local marketplace. The Warehouse Teammate role is crucial for ensuring accurate fulfillment of customer orders and maintaining warehouse operations.
Requirements
- 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience
- Knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center preferred
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Ability to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers
- Knowledge of, ability to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment
- Ability to learn to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center
- Ability to learn and operate the computer-related systems used for warehouse operations
- Read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Responsibilities
- Counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
- Stocking and maintaining the warehouse.
- Picking, documenting, and packing customer orders in accordance with Company policy and procedure.
- Handling shipping discrepancies per procedures or forwarding appropriate paperwork to designated employee.
- Identifying nonstock, special-order material, and damaged material and storing them in proper warehouse locations.
- Completing necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier.
- Loading and unloading trucks.
- Operating warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
- Informing immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise that could impact customer service levels.
- Ensuring security and controls are in place and upheld to protect Profit Center assets.
- Maintaining warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety, including removing empty cartons, metal bands, pallets, and other debris.
- Informing immediate supervisor of safety issues.
- Assisting co-workers in servicing customers.
- Performing all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
- Successfully completing required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
- Performing other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
