About The Position

Hajoca Corporation is a large, privately-held wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies. Founded in 1858, Hajoca operates on principles of service, integrity, and reliability. The company functions in a decentralized environment where each location, known as a Profit Center (PC), is managed like a small business. SANDALE, a trade name of Hajoca, is seeking a Warehouse Teammate for its Mckinney, TX location. This role is ideal for individuals who are safety and service-oriented, possess strong attention to detail, and are committed to providing excellent customer experiences. The Warehouse Teammate will be responsible for various warehouse operations, including receiving, stocking, order fulfillment, shipping, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. The position requires collaboration with co-workers and adherence to company safety standards and training programs.

Requirements

  • 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience
  • Knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center preferred
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers
  • Ability to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment
  • Ability to learn to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment
  • Ability to learn and operate the computer-related systems used for warehouse operations
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Responsibilities

  • Counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
  • Stocking and maintaining the warehouse.
  • Picking, documenting, and packing customer orders in accordance with Company policy and procedure.
  • Handling shipping discrepancies per procedures or forwarding appropriate paperwork to designated employee.
  • Identifying nonstock, special-order material, and damaged material and storing them in proper warehouse locations.
  • Completing necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier.
  • Loading and unloading trucks, and operating warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Informing immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise that could impact customer service levels.
  • Ensuring security and controls are in place and upheld to protect Profit Center assets.
  • Maintaining warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety, including removing empty cartons, metal bands, pallets, and other debris.
  • Informing immediate supervisor of safety issues.
  • Assisting co-workers in servicing customers.
  • Performing all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
  • Successfully completing required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
  • Performing other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
