About The Position

We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious individual who enjoys working independently to join our team as a Warehouse Teammate/Delivery Driver. This role involves operating trucks safely, loading and unloading merchandise, ensuring order accuracy, collecting payments, resolving customer issues, and maintaining the truck. Additionally, you will be responsible for warehouse duties such as receiving shipments, stocking, picking and packing orders, operating a forklift, and maintaining warehouse cleanliness and safety. The ideal candidate will have warehouse receiving and material handling experience, knowledge of products sold, and meet specific driving requirements.

Requirements

  • 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience
  • Be able to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
  • As a non-CDL driver, you must be at least 21 years old
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy.
  • Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and again at least every two years while employed and performing this job function.
  • Know the laws, rules and regulations governing driving motor vehicles in general, and commercial motor vehicles subject to Department of Transportation regulations in particular.
  • Know of, be able to apply, and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors and co-workers.
  • Be able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
  • Be able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
  • Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used in the delivery process.
  • Read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations.
  • Load the truck at the Profit Center with Hajoca merchandise to be delivered, securing the load properly.
  • Understand shipping documents and have accurate directions to each delivery destination.
  • Review shipping documentation and ensure order accuracy.
  • Unload correct merchandise from the truck and place it where the receiving party wants it.
  • Obtain legible signature for all merchandise delivered per Company policy and procedure.
  • Collect and secure outstanding payments for all cash sale deliveries prior to releasing the material to the customer.
  • Work with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • Load the truck at other locations with merchandise (e.g., vendor pickups, customer returns, other wholesalers).
  • Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses.
  • Inspect the truck and required parts and accessories to determine safe operating condition prior to departure.
  • Keep truck clean of debris in cab and body.
  • Advise management of any mechanical problems with the truck.
  • Complete the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report when driving a delivery vehicle with a GVWR of 10,001 lbs. or more if a defect or deficiency is found.
  • Remove keys from the truck and store keys in the approved location at the end of the workday.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.
  • Be responsible for counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
  • Stock and maintain the warehouse; and pick, document, and pack customer orders.
  • Handle all shipping discrepancies per procedures or forward appropriate paperwork to designated employee.
  • Identify nonstock, special-order material, and damaged material and store in proper warehouse locations.
  • Complete necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier.
  • Load and unload trucks, operate warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Inform immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise.
  • Ensure security and controls are in place and upheld to protect Profit Center assets.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety.
  • Assist co-workers in servicing customers.
  • Perform all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
