About The Position

The Outbound Team Lead contributes to meeting Langham goals of exceptional customer service, quality, process improvement, and profitability by ensuring that all designated finished good items and quantity of items are correctly picked, packed, and shipped according to client specifications, eliminating errors and claims. The Lead is a direct link between the associates and the supervisor, distributing daily work orders, ensuring orders are correctly completed and recorded, and ensuring that shipments get out according to schedule. The Lead ensures productivity and quality goals are met on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, maximizing productivity and efficiency through the use of RF guns and cross training. This position will assist and/or lead training efforts for new hires within their department and cross train veterans in other functions; and is charged with planning for adequate manpower to meet daily schedules and appropriately matching associate skills with duties of the job. The Outbound Lead delegates investigation of problems, such as mispicks, packing errors, QC findings, pallet load discrepancies, and quantity variances. The Outbound Lead also ensures that all work is done according to safety and security guidelines, with particular attention to guidelines regarding hazardous materials and those mandated by the Department of Homeland Security.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure inventory accuracy using RF systems and proper data entry.
  • Support the Supervisor with workflow coordination, scheduling, and task assignments.
  • Monitor productivity, assist with process issues, and adjust staffing as needed.
  • Perform quality checks during receiving, put-away, picking, and packing.
  • Lead team efforts through coaching, training, cross-training, and fostering a team environment.
  • Prepare and distribute work instructions and pick tickets in a timely manner.
  • Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring correct items, packaging, and labeling.
