Warehouse 2nd Shift Team Lead
About The Position
River Valley, a growing specialty foods and consumable products distributor in Syracuse, NY, is searching for a full-time Second Shift Warehouse Team Lead. The River Valley family of companies: River Valley Foods, Cavallaro Foods, and Empire Valley distribute a wide range of specialty dry and frozen grocery items and consumable products out of warehouses in Syracuse, NY. Join a fast-growing distributor of specialty foods and non-consumable products. We're looking for a hands-on, positive, and reliable Warehouse Team Lead to support our second shift team and help drive safety, productivity, and teamwork in a dynamic environment.
Requirements
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with warehouse systems (Outlook, WMS, Microsoft Office, etc.)
- Experience with equipment like pallet jacks, high lifts, RF guns
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and enforce safety standards
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree or higher preferred but not required
- 3+ years of warehouse experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead shift startup: hold team huddles, take attendance, and review safety/SQF updates
- Coach, train, and support warehouse associates to hit performance goals
- Oversee daily operations, assign tasks, and keep the team focused
- Walk aisles regularly to ensure cleanliness and organization across work areas
- Operate warehouse equipment safely (pallet jacks, forklifts, dock equipment, etc.)
- Be a role model: lead by example and help create a safe, productive, and positive work culture
