About The Position

Dealer Tire is hiring a Warehouse Team Lead to lead an assigned receiving or shipping function and provide direction to associates. The role supports accurate, timely inbound and outbound shipments, inventory control, product handling, and resource allocation. It also contributes to associate development, safety, employee engagement, and warehouse administration.

The position requires at least a high school diploma and three or more years of supply chain experience, including distribution center, inventory, and transportation experience. The work has significant physical requirements, including lifting at least 70 pounds and continuous lifting, bending, twisting, and crouching. Vehicle-related requirements include meeting company driving policies, operating company vehicles safely, and passing a road skills test and DOT physical after hire. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and pass pre-employment drug screening; warehouse employees are also subject to random drug testing.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• At least 3 years of supply chain experience, including distribution center, inventory, and transportation experience.
• Strong process-improvement mindset focused on continuous growth.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to lift at least 70 pounds and continuously lift, bend, twist, and crouch.
• Meet the requirements of Dealer Tire’s Motor Vehicle Record Policy and Company Vehicle Fleet Policy.
• Operate company vehicles safely and professionally and wear a seat belt.
• Wear safety equipment when required.
• Be at least 21 years old and pass a driver’s road skills test and DOT physical after hire.
• Speak and read English well enough to converse with the public, understand road signs, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on records and reports.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening; warehouse employees are subject to random drug testing.
• For employees with a Missouri Driver’s License, hold a valid Class E license.
• For employees working in a Michigan Distribution Center, hold a valid Chauffeur’s License.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience with WMS, TMS, and ERP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the assigned receiving or shipping function, direct associates, and troubleshoot issues.
• Assist in supervising inbound and outbound shipments to ensure they are accurate and timely.
• Support inventory control training and conduct cycle counts and physical inventory counts.
• Work with the leadership team to resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Count products before storage, compare them with manifests, inspect shipments, and report shortages, damage, or missed shipments to management.
• Check filled and assembled orders against customer orders for quantity, quality, labeling, and address accuracy.
• Relocate, replenish, and consolidate products as directed.
• Inform management of staffing and equipment resource-allocation issues.
• Deliver safety training and certifications, enforce safety procedures, and address safety issues.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Warehouse Manager and Distribution Center Manager on associate development plans and help implement them.
• Coach, teach, and train team members.
• Work with management on employee initiatives that promote involvement, empowerment, and commitment to company success.
• Assist with recognition, engagement, and team-building strategies.
• Provide input into team members’ performance assessments and recommend actions such as promotion, counseling, or termination; assist the Distribution Center Manager with performance conversations.
• Assist with coaching, counseling, and discipline to hold associates accountable.
• Provide task-level direction to associates in the area of responsibility.
• Help monitor supply levels and order supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
