About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Supply Technician is responsible for properly storing, stocking, and distributing medical supplies, restocking the par locations located on each patient care floor, the delivery of supplies to clinics and all other departments throughout the main campus of the hospital, and the pulling and staging of supplies ordered by off campus clinics and departments.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum six months related experience and/or training.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Report Writing and Outlook/Teams.
  • Must have an active unrestricted Driver’s License.

  • Additional certification relevant to the job duties from a college or technical school preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Properly storing, stocking, and distributing medical supplies.
  • Restocking par locations on patient care floors.
  • Delivery of supplies to clinics and departments.
  • Pulling and staging supplies ordered by off-campus clinics and departments.
  • Maintaining utmost level of confidentiality.
  • Adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrating business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
  • Reporting any safety concerns regarding the warehouse or warehouse supplies.
  • Using and being fully trained to use handheld scanning units for supply replenishment.
  • Using and being fully trained with the MMIS system; able to search, find data such as inventory stock on hand, perform a quick issue, and do returns/credits to departments.
  • Replenishing assigned supply areas according to schedule and completing all appropriate transactions in the MMIS system.
  • Recommending adjustments to supply max/min (par) levels based on usage and obtaining feedback from department personnel.
  • Processing daily supply requisitions using the MMIS system.
  • Picking, pulling, and delivering supplies to the requesting department.
  • Answering phone calls promptly and ensuring customers are served timely.
  • Putting away freight as instructed or scheduled, ensuring shelves are well-stocked.
  • Verifying packing slips to actual shipment received and reporting discrepancies.
  • Operating a pallet jack and a bailer.
  • Breaking down boxes and ensuring work area is free and clear of trash.
  • Communicating with supervisor and/or buyer when taking the last item or when critical items are at a low stock level.
  • Monitoring and rotating stock in assigned areas to prevent obsolescence and reduce spoilage.
  • Performing periodic cycle supply counts and participating in the General Store annual physical inventory.
  • Following all applicable infection control procedures.
  • Maintaining clean, neat, and orderly supply rooms and storerooms.
  • Checking assigned sections for expired or soon to be expired supplies.
  • Checking emails at least once during the morning and again in the afternoon.
  • Coordinating schedules for items being moved from the warehouse to other locations.
  • Working with drivers and end users to ensure prompt and safe delivery of goods.
  • Working with inventory “owners” to ensure items do not sit unused.
  • Supporting the Finance Department with equipment inventory.
  • Ensuring timely and cooperative inter/intra departmental relationships and communication.
  • Responding promptly to emergency requests involving essential supplies or equipment.
  • Responding to after-hours calls and requests.
  • Participating in group meetings, special projects, and safety calls.
  • Identifying and promptly reporting any warehouse safety hazards or concerns.
  • Operating handheld scanning devices accurately and efficiently.
  • Processing supply requests using designated inventory management software.
  • Responding to telephone inquiries and providing courteous, efficient customer service.
  • Safely operating pallet jack, bailer and other warehouse equipment.
  • Breaking down and disposing of cardboard boxes and other packaging materials.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and product conditions to minimize waste, prevent obsolescence, and reduce spoilage.
  • Following all applicable infection prevention and control procedures.
  • Reporting facility maintenance issues and warehouse deficiencies.
  • Operating a box truck as needed.
  • Performing routine vehicle inspections, maintenance checks, and maintaining mileage records.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
