About The Position

The 1st Shift Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager and overseeing the 1st Shift Team in areas of receiving, stocking, inventory, reclamation, and the daily direction of 1st shift warehouse duties. This role involves demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of all warehouse roles and operations, providing hands-on assistance where needed, and serving as backup support for the Warehouse Manager and Inventory Control. The supervisor will assign daily work assignments, coordinate team members to ensure productivity and quality goals are met safely and efficiently, and ensure employees adhere to company safety policies. Additionally, the role includes training, coaching, mentoring, and potentially issuing disciplinary actions. The supervisor will monitor and track productivity, identify and resolve operational issues, and communicate department progress to management. Maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and efficient work environment is crucial, along with a commitment to complying with safety rules and company procedures. The position requires the ability to repeatedly lift and stack products weighing between 10-35 lbs. (generally up to approximately 75lbs) throughout the shift and perform additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 + years of related warehouse experience, including at least 1 + years of experience providing direction, supervisor to others.
  • 3 + years of loading in a warehouse or shipping environment preferred with sit-down and standing forklift and electric riding pallet jack experience required.
  • Proficient in the use of warehouse tools, equipment, technology and systems required for daily operations.
  • Able to work in multi-temperature environments: dry, cooler and freezer (temperatures ranging from -10 degrees to 100 degrees).
  • Requires physical stamina: Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift.
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Able and willing to work hard in a fast-paced, schedule driven environment with time pressures to complete work efficiently and effectively.
  • Functions as a team member with willingness to perform any duty assigned to best serve the company’s mission.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all warehouse roles and warehouse operations; provide hands-on assistance where needed, including, receiving, stocking, inventory control, reclamation, receiving scheduling, customer invoicing, and related activities.
  • Provide back-up support for Warehouse Manager, including coverage during vacations, absences, and call-ins.
  • Serve as backup to Inventory Control as needed.
  • Assign daily work assignments to the warehouse team as directed by the Warehouse Manager.
  • Supervise and coordinate team members to ensure daily productivity, quality, and operational goals are achieved in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.
  • Ensure employees follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable requirements.
  • Train, coach, and mentor both new and current employees.
  • Provides direction and guidance to employees; this position has the responsibility for issuing or administering disciplinary action.
  • Monitor and track productivity, identify and research operation issues, and assist in resolving productivity and quality concerns.
  • Communicate department progress operational issues, and other relevant updates to the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Committed to complying with safety rules / guidelines and company procedures and standards.
  • Repeatedly lifts and stacks products to and from various heights weighing between 10-35 lbs. (generally up to approximately 75lbs depending on the location) throughout the shift.
  • Performs additional tasks / all other duties that may be assigned by your manager and/or department director.
