About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor - Nights is responsible for directly overseeing daily shift operations, including selection, shipping, receiving, cross-docking, interleaving, and trailer loading. This role involves reviewing orders, conferring with various personnel to resolve issues, and supervising the daily activity of warehouse and dispatch Team Members. The supervisor assigns work, monitors productivity to ensure high standards of quality, accuracy, housekeeping, product damage minimization, safety, and overall efficiency. Key responsibilities include planning assignments, coordinating and monitoring operations to ensure on-time deliveries, promoting safety, enforcing safety rules, and communicating policies and SOPs. The position also involves conducting start-up shift meetings, ensuring the facility is maintained cleanly and orderly, minimizing product damage, and working to maintain high Team Member morale. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for training, coaching, and providing feedback to Team Members, resolving Team Member relations issues, investigating operational errors, and carrying out disciplinary actions in conjunction with the Operations Manager. They also create, manage, and support recognition and communication programs, confer with management on inventory accuracy and quality control, coordinate shift handoff activities, review and ensure accuracy of timesheets, and inform Warehouse Senior Management of operating issues and recommendations. The role may involve driving vehicles or operating machines/equipment, requires reliable attendance, and adherence to safety and security standards. All other duties as assigned or needed are also part of the role.

Requirements

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
One - two years previous work experience in fast paced warehouse environment.
Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office to include Excel, Outlook and Word.
Ability to master internal computer systems.
Valid State Driver’s License
Forklift Certification

Responsibilities

Directly oversees daily shift operations to include selection, shipping, receiving, cross docking, interleaving and trailer loading operations.
Reviews orders, shipping or receiving notices to determine work sequences.
Confers with customers, supervisors, contractors, and other personnel to exchange information and to resolve problems.
Supervises daily activity of warehouse and dispatch Team Members.
Assigns work and monitors productivity to ensure high standards of quality, accuracy, housekeeping, product damage minimization, safety and overall efficiency.
Plans assignments and monitors activities to ensure the proper paperwork flow, consolidation of product and the locating of missing product to enhance customer satisfaction by reducing irregularities.
Plans assignments, coordinates and monitors operations within the warehouse and dispatch to ensure on-time deliveries are achieved, reducing irregularities and damage.
Promotes safety in work processes and Team Member performance by supporting company and/or facility safety programs by educating Team Members, and by ensuring a generally safe work environment.
Enforces safety rules and regulations.
Communicates policies, safety regulations and SOPs to warehouse and dispatch Team Members; follow-up to ensure compliance and consistency; takes corrective action as necessary and documents the issue and actions taken.
Conducts start-up shift meetings.
Ensures that facility is maintained clean and in an orderly fashion.
Ensures that product damage is kept to a minimum.
Works to maintain high level of Team Member morale and recognition.
Responsible for the training, coaching and feedback of warehouse and dispatch Team Members, and performs regular evaluations of Team Members through factual data and subjective observations.
Coaches and counsels Team Members regarding job performance, methods of performing job tasks and safety.
Resolves Team Member relations issues that arise during shift.
Investigates operational errors to determine the cause and recommend corrective action where needed.
In conjunction with the Operations Manager, carries out disciplinary actions as appropriate.
Creates, manages and supports recognition and communication programs that foster an environment of teamwork for Team Members and peers.
Confers with management personnel to establish and maintain inventory accuracy and quality control standards.
Coordinates shift handoff activities to obtains optimum distribution and utilization of human resources, machines, equipment and material.
Reviews and ensures accuracy of timesheet records and submit to Human Resources for timely processing.
Informs Warehouse Senior Management of all operating issues and problems and make recommendations for corrective action to ensure quality warehouse operations and customer service.
Prepares, compiles, and submits reports on work activities, operations, and work-related accidents.
Drives vehicles or operates machines or equipment to complete work assignments or to assist workers.
Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
