About The Position

Atkore is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for its Harvey, IL location, responsible for managing all distribution functions on the 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday-Friday). This role reports to the Distribution Manager and oversees safety programs, shipping & receiving, inventory management, and warehousing. The supervisor will lead a unionized department of approximately 15-25 employees. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of supervisory experience in a high-volume distribution center, with a focus on receiving, picking, and shipping. Experience with KPI compliance, WMS, and scanning systems (JD Edwards preferred) is essential. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a high-volume distribution center in a supervisor role, with focus on receiving, picking, and shipping.
Experience in managing distribution center KPI compliance.
Extensive experience with WMS and Scanning Systems operations and capabilities; JD Edwards preferred.
Track record of continuous improvement in safety metrics and program management.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Experience participating in cross functional Kaizen and Lean events.
Comprehensive oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience with WMS implementation a plus.
Leadership experience in a union environment preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Oversee assigned shift operations including distribution, warehouse, and fulfillment operations by maintaining and enhancing existing standard work.
Coordinate and plan all activity on the distribution center docks, including the timing and location for carriers to be loaded (flatbed, dry van, containers, LTL, will call, and small parcel).
Achieve financial objectives for the shift by managing controllable expenses.
Develop and enforce a safety culture with current, monitored safety programs.
Drive consistency and cost reduction through improvements to standard work.
Develop and implement processes to improve the Service Factor rate (on-time delivery).
