About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of warehouse activities including shipping/receiving, and inventory maintenance. In addition, the Warehouse Supervisor is included in the recruiting and hiring of warehouse personnel, labor planning and workload allocation, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues and resolving problems. Nights and Weekends Schedule (Sunday- Thursday, Occasional Saturday)

Requirements

Broad knowledge of warehouse operations
Effective oral and written communication skills at all levels regarding supervision, counseling and discipline
Strong leadership and management skills
Ability to effectively prioritize and delegate work
Proficient with computers
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures and maintenance instructions.
Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications.
Forklift certification
At least 4 years experience managing within a warehouse environment
At least 3 years experience operating a forklift
High school diploma

Nice To Haves

Single-double, clamp, and other specialized forklift attachment experience preferred

Responsibilities

Supervise and assist in daily warehouse and shipping areas
Manage the periodic maintenance of all equipment, fixtures and fabric on warehouse premises
Develop and maintain a productive work team through training and professional development
Establish, maintain and promote high standards of customer service
Liaise with drivers, customers and warehouse personnel
Maintain effective internal control over product flow and inventory
Manage and maintain adherence to both customer and company standard operating procedures to allow the accurate, timely, and safe handling of goods.
Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations
Recommend measures to improve the quality of service and increase efficiency of department
Participate in the selection process of new personnel, train incoming personnel
Other duties as assigned by Warehouse Management
