About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for North American logistics and warehousing operations for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods within Animal Nutrition and Health. This role manages the distribution strategy for North American customers and global affiliate export shipments. You will oversee relationships with third-party warehousing and transportation providers and will be responsible for the Ames Shipping Warehouse.

Requirements

  • High school diploma is required
  • Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in a managerial position with responsibility for operations management or supply chain.
  • SAP, PCS , and Business Warehouse experience is required.
  • Knowledge of warehousing and distribution practices.
  • Understanding of product storage and legal requirements for North American and global shipments.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Strong vendor negotiation capabilities.
  • Problem-solving skills in complex, fast-moving environments.
  • Proven analytical, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and motivate people.

Responsibilities

  • Implements strategic plans to meet North American and global customer delivery requirements while balancing supply chain cost and service-level expectations.
  • Collaborates with production, sales, and customers to improve the order fulfillment process.
  • Provide Animal Nutrition and Health North American and global customers added value while balancing storage and transportation cost.
  • Deliver and store product in an organized, clean, controlled and safe environment.
  • Ship all products per Animal Nutrition and Health and DOT regulatory requirements, including all HAZMAT materials.
  • Collaborate with key demand and supply managers to ensure critical transparency and accurate, up-to-date SAP and PCS inventory balances for all managed products.
  • Manage warehousing and distribution operational spend for Animal Nutrition and Health products to control allocated Business Unit cost.
  • Set and manage operational policy and procedures consistent with business strategy and requirements.
  • Identify areas for operation improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams assessing inventory coverage, aging, and write-off exposure.
  • Monitor all outsourced warehouse and logistic operations for GMP and SHE requirements.
  • Work with Animal Nutrition and Health managers to monitor and improve processes to meet all regulations and requirements.
  • Prepare and present operational reviews at management meetings.
  • Interact with senior North American Management on critical operational and cost issues that impact key account plans and customer service.
  • Utilize root cause analysis for continuous process improvement, added value, and cost control.
  • Prepare and present annual operation budgets taking into consideration sales and production product volumes, projected fuel surcharges, and projected operational expenses.
  • Manage warehouse maintenance including operational repair.
  • Works to SHE standards and encourages fellow colleagues to work to the same standards.
  • Displays and promotes positive safety behaviors at all times; uses proper personal protective equipment, appropriate safety tools, equipment, and procedures to ensure self and others go home safe each day.
  • Ensures the area and equipment operate at the highest safety levels and that people in the area comply with safety directives and keep the area neat and clean.
  • Follows all SHE instructions and procedures, including awareness of and adherence to all Animal Nutrition and Health Life Saving Rules.
  • Acts in such a way that safety awareness and accident prevention are considered in performing all tasks.
  • Ensures that all personal safety, quality, and assigned training is up to date and in compliance.
  • Supports and follows the policy of reporting incidents, near misses, and improvement possibilities.
  • Encourages co-workers and management to improve SHE results and incidents.
  • Follows cGMP requirements, work processes, and applicable quality procedures related to warehousing, storage, distribution, and handling of materials.
  • Maintains product quality, traceability, and integrity through proper storage, shipment, documentation, and inventory control practices.
  • Promotes compliance with Animal Nutrition and Health quality and food/feed safety policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Manage warehousing and distribution operations for Animal Nutrition and Health products.
  • Coordinate outsourced warehouse and logistics activities with third-party providers.
  • Manage warehouse maintenance, including operational repair.
  • Support HR policies related to recruitment, development, and enforcement.
  • Warehouse location software project.
  • Warehouse temperature mapping project.
  • Raw material sampling project.
  • Raw material harmonization project.
  • Negotiate third-party warehouse and logistic contracts with Purchasing.
