About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring warehousing, shipping, and receiving targets are met or exceeded. This involves training and developing workers, managing employee scheduling, and overseeing inventories and inbound and outbound trucks. The role also focuses on preserving product quality through proactive involvement in process improvement, supervising and developing warehousing personnel, conducting plant audits and reviews to maintain company standards, and collaborating with other departments to resolve quality, production, and efficiency problems. The supervisor will identify and implement improvements, serve as an information source for various departments, support customer service during visits and audits, and assist the Plant Manager with special department projects. Ensuring workers adhere to safety and GMP guidelines is also a key aspect of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety discussions with all personnel
  • Coordination of all warehouse functions on shift
  • Work collaboratively with all departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Employee scheduling
  • Ensure effective equipment operation and warehouse efficiencies are met
  • Manage material receiving/finished goods shipping, documentation and execution so that product quality is maintained
  • Work with customers to ensure their goals for shipping and receiving are met
  • Manage organization of the warehouse
  • Drive food safety and quality of materials through worker training, development and ensure warehouse equipment is properly functioning and operated
  • Generate work orders for equipment issues and improvements
  • Responsible for Inventory Management
  • Work with operations to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained per production schedule
  • Ensure inventory systems Bill of Materials are setup for proper relief of inventories during production
  • Effectively manage finished goods levels
  • Work with external warehouses to effectively manage inventory levels
  • Manage the scheduling of deliveries with suppliers and manage exceptions
  • Manage and perform inventory cycle counts
  • Understand Warehouse processes, including shipping and receiving
  • Review warehouse efficiencies and work with all departments to improve throughput
  • Work with management to improve efficiencies and reduce cost
  • Track improvement ideas to understand effectiveness of changes
  • Support personnel training and development
  • Ensure warehouse personnel (forklift operators, shipping and receiving) are trained on following SOPs, performing the tasks on the equipment checklists, performing quality inspections, and monitoring and documenting materials entering and leaving the facility
  • Ensure warehouse personnel are trained on warehousing, general operations, food safety and quality SOPs
  • Assess employee performance (both MSI and Staffing), develop improvement plans, and implement training to increase employee skills and performance
  • Provide regular, documented feedback to employees to improve performance
  • Understand SOPs and provide improvement ideas and upgrades
  • Ensure employees are properly trained on SOPs
  • Ensure SOP training is properly documented
  • Other duties as assigned
