About The Position

Builders FirstSource is America’s largest supplier of building materials, value-added components, and building services to the professional market. The Warehouse Supervisor directs the activities of warehouse personnel, including receiving, stocking, load building, customer service, and deliveries. This role supervises assigned employees, including staff selection and training, planning, assigning and directing work, conducting performance reviews, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving problems. The supervisor also oversees the safe and efficient handling of goods by employees operating forklifts or other machinery, ensuring proper training and certification. Additionally, they coordinate periodic inventory checks, prepare merchandise orders to meet stock level requirements, and maintain a record-keeping system for current stock information. The supervisor may also perform the same duties as other yard personnel on occasion.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Five or more years of experience performing and coordinating yard or warehousing activities, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Oversees the safe and efficient handling of goods by employees operating forklifts or other machinery ensuring that employees receive the proper training and certification, if necessary.
• Oversees and coordinates periodic inventory checks; prepares merchandise orders to ensure that identified stock levels meet merchandising requirements at all times; maintains record keeping system to provide immediate access to current stock information when needed.
• On occasion, will perform the same duties as other yard personnel.
