About The Position

CDS Logistics & Home Services is seeking a dynamic professional to supervise the pulling crew and warehouse PM operations. As a supervisor with CDS Logistics you will be held to the highest standards of conduct and accountability under the leadership code of conduct. The Warehouse Pulling Supervisor is responsible for managing daily, weekly, and monthly pulling productivity; workforce planning and development; employee onboarding, training and performance management; and facility security, maintenance and management. The supervisor will lead, communicate and champion company initiatives including Lean Six Sigma and 5S initiatives with all members of the organization. The primary goal of a Warehouse Supervisor is to ensure we are driving business results to meet our organizational objectives, mission, vision and values ensuring operational excellence at all times.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and level of professionalism when speaking with co-workers.
  • Ability to work two steps ahead, identifying and eliminating roadblocks long before they appear on the horizon.
  • Experienced on the double electric pallet jack, double reach truck, clamp truck, and sit-down forklift.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a leadership role or equivalent leadership knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform at a high level in this position.
  • High School Degree or GED or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Warehouse experience pulling or order selecting for palletized product
  • Literacy – English language, written and spoken.
  • Ability to pass certification courses for essential warehouse equipment for the job
  • Must possess a willingness to learn, grow and develop yourself and others while working in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of Word and Excel programs are necessary to perform the role of warehouse manager.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years of warehouse experience pulling or order selecting for palletized product
  • 1+ years of leadership responsibility in the CDS network.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of direct reports including Warehouse Professionals and Team Leads.
  • Develop direct reports' knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be successful in their role.
  • Develop Team Leads' communication and leadership competency through one-on-one mentorship, direct guidance and through leading by personal example.
  • Own the performance management process for your direct reports. This includes employee training and onboarding, 30/60/90-day review process, annual review process, and the progressive disciplinary action process.
  • Assess team metrics and workforce staffing levels ensuring we have the right number of people, in the right place, at the right time to execute team deliverables.
  • Recruit, interview and select top talent that possesses the critical knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully on your team.
  • Manage and develop employee training and certification including but not limited to: product knowledge, SOP, safety, equipment certification, and lean management.
  • Document and audit employee training and certification on a routine basis, performing retraining and certification activities as needed.
  • Own and manage employee engagement and positive retention of your high-performing team members.
  • Evaluate and establish SOP processes ensuring the right processes are in place to efficiently meet goals and objectives both accurately and timely.
  • Set, manage, document, and communicate daily, weekly and monthly goals with your team and your direct supervisor.
  • Supervise, standardize and manage the auditing procedures.
  • Delegate and review auditing completed by others in partnership with your efforts or in your absence.
  • Coordinate and schedule the pulling of runs in partnership with operations.
  • Proactively collaborate with internal departments ensuring that all runs are pulled and all paperwork is complete communicating any issues as soon as they arise.
  • Hold daily team meetings, and manage individual team members throughout the day.
  • Audit all runs for accuracy prior to the end of each day.
  • Manage and maintain accurate pulling board and lean metrics daily.
  • Review and resolve issues in the problem box prior to the end of each shift.
  • Follow up with team members regarding the problem-solving process ensuring they know what to look for in the event they are faced with the same issue again.
  • Manage UPS/FedEx/LTL process as needed.
  • Manage the daily re-receiving process and re-received inventory.
  • Document damages and notify the appropriate internal team members when found or occurred due to a pulling error.
  • Work with warehouse staff to reduce damages through appropriate training methods.
  • Assist and support Double Reach Truck operations.
  • Supervise and assist with customer will calls.
