About The Position

Toyota currently has an exciting opportunity for a student to support our Western Canada Parts Distribution Centre. This role is a seasonal (4-Month Summer) role and will reside in our Richmond Plant reporting to one of our Operations Leaders. Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) is the exclusive Canadian distributor of Toyota and Lexus vehicles. Toyota Canada's head office is in Toronto, with regional offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal and Halifax. Toyota parts and accessories are distributed through TCI's Parts Distribution Centers in Bowmanville and Vancouver. TCI supports over 260 Toyota and Lexus dealers in Canada with services that include training, sales, marketing, environmental and customer satisfaction initiatives. The anticipated hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.26 to $21.21, with final compensation based on the candidate’s completed work terms. The successful students are eligible for a retention bonus of up to $1,000 upon successful completion of the full term of employment. Any planned vacation or personal time off must be pre-approved and included in the offer letter to maintain eligibility for the retention bonus.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled and completed at least one semester of post-secondary education and returning in September 2026
  • Commitment to work the full employment term offered – End date: Friday, September 4, 2026
  • Proven ability to excel in a physically demanding work environment (approx. 50 lbs. maximum)
  • Ability to be flexible as hours are to be determined
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • Provides own safety shoes and appropriate dress for a warehouse operation
  • Proven ability to initiate & improve work processes to increase efficiency

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily work assignments as a Student Team Member, appropriate for the level of training received and proficiency gained.
  • Picks, packs, labels and processes parts orders in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Accurately bins parts received in assigned location according to instructions and established SOPs.
  • Reports instances of mixed or misplaced stock and takes corrective action according to established SOPs.
  • Reports damaged or incomplete stock, or any other stock situation where the packaging is not suitable for resale.
  • Maintains accurate and timely computer input according to established SOPs for any work processes performed.
  • Reports any unsafe work practices or facility conditions observed.
  • Maintains an acceptable level of productivity and quality.
  • Ensures a clean and tidy appearance for health & safety purposes.
  • Other duties as requested or required.
