About The Position

The Warehouse Specialist performs varied warehousing duties requiring an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan. The role includes handling and inspecting stored materials, maintaining inventory, preparing materials for shipment, and routing and storing materials according to prescribed methods. The position may involve operating hand or power trucks and requires safe handling of equipment and materials. Other position-related duties may be assigned or requested. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and six to twelve months of job-related experience and/or training. Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Six to twelve months of job-related experience and/or training.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
Ability to perform work safely to prevent loss or damage of equipment.
Customer-oriented, with the ability to work courteously and effectively through difficult situations.
May be required to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
Must be able to type using a standard keyboard for communication through email and software applications.
Must be able to walk and stand on level or inclined surfaces for extended periods.
Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands; crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend at the elbows and knees, and reach above and below the shoulders.
Must be able to lift heavy objects that may exceed 50 pounds and lift, push, or pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.
Must be able to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, and forklifts.
Must be able to work around potential electrical shock hazards and moving mechanical parts or vehicles, handle dirty parts and lubricants, and wear proper personal protective equipment.
May be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice to austere environments under harsh living conditions.

Responsibilities

Perform warehousing duties that require understanding the establishment’s storage plan.
Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials; examine materials for deterioration or damage and report findings.
Remove materials from storage and prepare them for shipment.
Verify materials or merchandise against receiving documents, note and report discrepancies and obvious damage, and route materials to prescribed storage locations.
Store, stack, or palletize materials according to prescribed storage methods.
May operate hand or power trucks while performing warehousing duties.
Perform other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Contribute to maintaining a safe work environment, complete required training, fulfill self-aid/buddy-aid responsibilities, and participate in emergency response tasks or safety committees and teams as appropriate.
Conform to the Amentum Quality Policy and perform work in compliance with applicable quality-system documents and customer contracts.
Read, understand, and implement applicable operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
