About The Position

The Warehouse Specialist supports the operations of an Army Installation Supply Support Activity (ISSA) by performing a variety of supply and warehousing tasks under the supervision of the SSA Supervisor, Supply Technician Lead, or Warehouse Specialist Lead. This role requires a strong working knowledge of Army supply procedures, policies, and automated systems to manage the storage, accountability, and distribution of supply commodities. The Warehouse Specialist will work in coordination with internal teams, external contract locations, and military customers to meet operational requirements in compliance with Army regulations, the Performance Work Statement (PWS), and company policies. This position may involve performing tasks across various sections of the SSA. The Warehouse Specialist ensures the accurate receipt, storage, inventory, and issue of supply commodities, as well as their proper turn-in and disposal. This Warehouse Specialist role ensures the effective operation of the SSA while adhering to Army standards and regulations. By maintaining accountability, organization, and operational efficiency, the Warehouse Specialist contributes to mission readiness and success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or warehouse operations, preferably in a military or DoD environment.
  • Material Handling Equipment (MHE) certification (e.g., forklift operation).
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Valid State driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass background checks and obtain required clearances if applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • HAZMAT handling certification
  • Experience with Army supply operations in a Customer Redistribution Point (CRP), Shipping, or ISSA section.
  • Advanced knowledge of Army supply classifications and inventory management processes.
  • Certification or formal training in logistics, supply chain management, or warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks related to receiving, inspecting, verifying, storing, issuing, and inventorying supply commodities (Class I, II, IIIP, IV, limited V, VII, limited VIII, and IX).
  • Verify shipments against receiving documents, note/report discrepancies, and prepare items for proper storage or shipment.
  • Conduct periodic and cyclical inventories, identifying and reconciling discrepancies, and maintaining accurate stock levels.
  • Arrange and maintain materials in designated storage locations, ensuring adherence to storage guidelines and safety regulations.
  • Examine stored materials for signs of deterioration, damage, or expiration and report findings.
  • Process requisitions for redistributed materials and ensure the accurate classification, packaging, and documentation of items.
  • Coordinate with supported units and the SSA Supervisor to ensure timely movement of assets between locations.
  • Prepare materials for shipment in compliance with Army and DoD regulations, ensuring proper packaging, banding, wrapping, and labeling.
  • Process and inspect shipping documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Use Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to load and unload shipments.
  • Handle hazardous materials (HAZMAT) in accordance with established guidelines, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and documentation.
  • Utilize Automated Information Systems (AIS) such as GCSS-A, AFMIS, and EESOH-MIS for tracking and managing hazardous materials.
  • Maintain hand receipts and other accountability documentation for assigned supply assets.
  • Process supply turn-ins and disposals in compliance with Army standards and regulations.
  • Support unit and organizational training requirements by managing and distributing supply assets.
  • Assist with housekeeping tasks to maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse and surrounding areas.
  • Comply with environmental, safety, and security regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Operate tools, powered equipment, and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as forklifts and pallet jacks for warehousing tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or contract management.
