About The Position
A Warehouse Specialist is responsible for loading and unloading steel materials from trucks and storing them in service centers using overhead cranes. This role is crucial for ensuring that all steel is accurately accounted for and correctly placed, thereby guaranteeing that customers receive the right materials promptly. The position also contributes to fostering a culture of safety by adhering to all safety policies and practices. Steel and Pipe Supply purchases steel and distributes it to major clients who manufacture products such as farm equipment, powerline towers, storage tanks, and stadium frames. Beyond storage, some service centers also process steel through cutting, bending, and decoiling to simplify operations for customers. The Kansas City Service Center is described as a close-knit, open-minded, and competitive environment.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- 18+ years old
- Basic math skills
- Basic literacy for reading instructions and using hand tools
- Basic computer skills

Responsibilities
- Load and unload material (steel) from trucks and store it in service centers using overhead cranes
- Ensure every piece of steel is accounted for and in the right place
- Ensure that customers get the right materials at the right time
- Help create a culture of safety by following all safety policies and safe work practices

- Starting pay of $19.50/hr plus $2.50/hr shift differential
