About The Position

Akima Facilities Operations is looking for a Warehouse Specialist, Lead to work in Fort Hood, TX. This role is assigned to the Storage Section of the Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) and is responsible for the supervision, training, welfare, and safety of assigned personnel. The position involves the full execution of all tasks associated with the assigned area, including inventories, issues, turn-ins, receipts, daily maintenance of assigned government equipment, and bunker maintenance (vegetation control). The role requires working both indoors and outdoors, with potential for periodic overtime and exposure to various weather conditions.

Requirements

Military Occupational Specialties 55B/89B or 5 years of relevant work experience in ammo storage operations.
2+ years of supervision/leadership experience.
Knowledge of Army logistical functions.
Must be able to obtain forklift license.
Microsoft Office Skills.
Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation and obtain and maintain a CAC.
Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach and walk for extended periods of time.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.

Responsibilities

Supervise, train, and ensure the welfare and safety of assigned personnel.
Execute all tasks associated with the assigned area, including inventories, issues, turn-ins, and receipts.
Perform daily maintenance of assigned government equipment.
Conduct bunker maintenance, including vegetation control, both inside and outside.
Load, unload, stack, and store ammunition, including rockets.
Review unit paperwork for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Conduct informal safety inspections of vehicles entering the ASP.
Escort unit personnel into the ASP, identify correct ammunition by type, lot, and location, and issue it to unit personnel.
Assist units with loading and securing loads using a forklift, dolly, or other equipment.
Maintain accountability of all items issued and make appropriate entries on the Magazine Data Card.
Inspect loaded vehicles for proper blocking and bracing, ensure no compatibility violations, and verify proper placarding before exiting the ASP.
Assist with the receipt of commercial vehicles transporting ammunition by unloading, segregating, and placing items into storage.
Assist with inventories and the thorough screening of turn-in items.
Assist with the preparation of outbound shipments of live or unserviceable ammunition and explosives.
Assist in the packing, unpacking, inspection, and re-warehousing process, including remarking/re-stenciling ammunition and containers.
Understand procedures relating to both automated and non-automated customer units.
Perform other duties as assigned.
