About The Position

Meyer is seeking a dedicated, experienced Shuttle Driver and Warehouse Operator to support its wholesale distribution and logistics operations. The role involves driving box trucks between company buildings and performing warehouse duties such as unloading, stocking, pulling and staging products. The employee is responsible for completing these tasks safely, accurately and on time. The schedule is a five-day work week of approximately 40 hours. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with start and end times varying based on workload, coverage and business needs. Saturday work is rotational, typically 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., also subject to workload, coverage and business needs. Pay is listed as $19.00–$20.00, with up to $20.00 based on experience. Meyer Distributing is a family-owned and operated wholesale distributor serving automotive, RV/towing, outdoor living, marine and other markets. It has more than 126 locations nationwide. Meyer Logistics supports the distribution network with a fleet of more than 500 trucks.

Requirements

Preference for at least one year of experience operating 26–28 ft. box trucks or another commercial motor vehicle over 10,001 lbs.
Preference for manual/stick-shift driving experience.
Valid truck Indiana driver’s license and 2 For Hire endorsement; the company will reimburse the endorsement cost if obtained for Meyer and a receipt is provided.
Willingness to undergo drug screening and background checks.
Must maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
Clean driving record with no recent moving violations and ability to remain insurable under standard insurance market rates.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to perform repetitive bending and lifting.
Previous warehouse experience.
Must obtain forklift and manlift certification within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

Drive manual box trucks between company buildings as needed throughout the day.
Unload trucks and distribute products to appropriate warehouse areas for restocking.
Use scanners to place parts in proper bins and pull orders.
Stock parts on racks in the proper locations.
Fill orders from warehouse stock and deliver items to shipping or to designated route-driver or customer-pickup staging areas.
Operate forklift and manlift equipment.
Place products on pallets, wrap them in film and secure them with banding equipment.
Assist with counting and reconciling physical inventory.
Keep the warehouse and work area clean and organized.
Wear protective-toed shoes and work safely at all times.
Move products manually and with the assistance of a forklift and manlift.
Load trucks and secure products.
Transfer products.
Perform other duties as assigned.
