About The Position

Rabalais I&E Constructors is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the role of Shop-Warehouse Associate. This position is responsible for managing, maintaining, repairing, and tracking company tooling and equipment at the Distribution Center while supporting warehouse, delivery, and fleet operations. The role ensures that all tools, equipment, and delivery of vehicles are properly maintained, inventoried, and deployment-ready for job sites. This position also serves as operational support to the Warehouse Manager when required. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required medical card for vehicle operation
  • Must meet all company fleet and safety requirements

  • Must be able to furnish own transportation to and from job sites or staging areas.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must not use illegal drugs or excessive alcohol and must consent to a drug and alcohol test when required.
  • Must be able to comply with safety standards.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Workers should be able to: rate information using personal judgment or standards that can be measured or checked; work within precise limits or standards of accuracy; perform a variety of duties, which may change often; use reason and logic; perform arithmetical operations rapidly and accurately; see details in objects or drawings; recognize slight differences in shapes or shadings; and picture flat objects as 3-dimensional objects.
  • Physically, workers must be able to: work easily and skillfully with hands; climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds, and vessels; see well (naturally or with correction) and distinguish colors; reach for, handle, and grasp wires, conduit, and hand tools; bend, crouch, and work in small places; and lift and carry objects related to performing the job task.
  • A valid Texas Electrical Apprentice License is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous warehouse and forklift skills preferred
  • Building and construction material experience a plus
  • A valid Texas driver’s license is preferred but will accept a State or Government issued Identification card.
  • Osha 10 a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accountability for company tooling, including inspection, repair, upkeep, and readiness for field deployment.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.
  • Track tooling inventory accurately using warehouse and asset management systems
  • Assemble and verify tool lists for job site delivery and returns.
  • Drive company rack body trucks and other delivery vehicles as required for delivery and pickup of tools and materials.
  • Maintain required medical card and compliance to operate company vehicles.
  • Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure job lists are pulled accurately, on time, and loaded properly for route drivers
  • Organize, label, and store tools, equipment, and safety gear within the Distribution Center.
  • Inspect tooling and equipment upon return from job sites and document any damage or required repairs.
  • Ensure incoming deliveries are received, labeled, and stored properly on a daily basis.
  • Conduct routine inspections of warehouse, shop areas, and delivery of vehicles for cleanliness and safe operating conditions.
  • Maintain the warehouse and tooling areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition at all times.
  • Identify low inventory levels and recommend tools, equipment, or materials for replacement or purchase.
  • Observe warehouse and recommend corrective action when safety or procedural violations are identified.
  • Make on-the-spot corrections and coach team members on proper tool handling, shop practices, and safety expectations.
