About The Position

As a Sysco Selector, also referred to as an "Industrial Athlete," you will be responsible for handling an average of 1,500 cases per shift, with individual cases weighing between 30 and up to 70 pounds. This role is highly physical, requiring constant walking, standing, stretching, and bending, often covering more than 10 kilometers in a single shift. The repetitive nature of the work suits self-motivated individuals who enjoy challenging themselves. The typical work hours appeal to night owls, with shifts usually starting in the early afternoon and concluding in the early morning.

Requirements

Must be 18+ years of age.
Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English as required for the role and safety regulations.
Must pass all pre-employment testing (Background Check, Physical Abilities Test).
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Warehouse experience is an asset, but not required.

Responsibilities

Hand-select orders within various warehouse environments with fluctuating temperatures, including Dry, Cooler, and Freezer areas.
Operate the Sysco Order Selection (SOS) unit to scan and create labels, ensuring labels are correctly placed on products.
Stack product on pallets following proper selecting procedures (e.g., no heavy-on-light, labels facing outward).
Frequently lift products weighing 1–75 pounds and up to 88 pounds; regularly reach, bend, and twist while operating a pallet jack and/or forklift, including retrieving items from lower shelves.
Operate an electric pallet jack or forklift to transport product.
Stage pallets for loading at the proper dock locations.
Shrink-wrap product on the loading dock.
Follow all sanitation requirements and company policies.
Maintain and safely operate all assigned equipment, including pallet jacks, SOS units, and personal protective equipment.
Complete pre- and post-trip inspections and safely operate all mechanical equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
