Warehouse Sanitation Associate
About The Position
Charlie's Produce is a privately owned wholesale produce company and the largest privately owned produce wholesaler on the West Coast. Requirements
- Must be able to work independently and communicate with the sanitation and operations management teams
- Willing to work near moving mechanical parts
- Willing to work in extreme cold (warehouse temped at 36 degrees)
- Willing to work in high spaces on a scissor lift
- Willing to be exposed to wet or humid conditions (produce-related)
- Ability to work in an environment with a usually loud noise level
- Capable of regularly lifting and/or moving up to sacks/cases anywhere between 25-50lbs
- Ability to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, memos and write simple correspondence
- Ability to read/write/record data and perform simple mathematical calculations
- Must follow instructions and respond to management direction
- Reliable; consistently at work and on time
- Observes and follows proper safety and food safety procedures; willingness to report potentially unsafe conditions
Responsibilities
- Sweeping floors, cleaning up debris in the warehouse, freezer and lunchrooms
- Sanitize restrooms and lunchrooms daily, including equipment
- Deep cleaning projects as needed
- Cleaning up standing water using a floor scrubber machine
- Breaking down boxes and recycling, operating a bailer machine
- Regular trash removal from offices and warehouse area using a forklift or riding pallet jack to empty garbage
- Check for pest activity regularly
- Complete daily SQF inspection log
