About The Position
Charlie's Produce is seeking a Warehouse Sanitation Associate to join their team. This role is responsible for general warehouse and building housekeeping and maintenance, ensuring a clean and safe environment. Requirements
- Ability to work independently and communicate with sanitation and operations management teams
- Willingness to work near moving mechanical parts
- Willingness to work in extreme cold (warehouse temped at 36 degrees)
- Willingness to work in high spaces on a scissor lift
- Willingness to be exposed to wet or humid conditions (produce-related)
- Ability to work in an environment with a usually loud noise level
- Capable of regularly lifting and/or moving between 25-50lbs
- Ability to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to read/write/record data and perform simple mathematical calculations
- Must follow instructions
- Respond to management direction
- Reliable; consistently at work and on time
- Observes and follows proper safety and food safety procedures
- Willingness to report potentially unsafe conditions
Nice To Haves
- Experience operating a forklift
- Experience operating a riding pallet jack
- Experience operating a bailer machine
- Experience operating a floor scrubber machine
- Experience operating a scissor lift
Responsibilities
- Sweeping floors, cleaning up debris in the warehouse, freezer and lunchrooms
- Sanitize restrooms and lunchrooms daily, including equipment
- Deep cleaning projects as needed
- Cleaning up standing water using a floor scrubber machine
- Breaking down boxes and recycling, operating a bailer machine
- Regular trash removal from offices and warehouse area, utilizing a forklift or riding pallet jack to empty garbage
- Checking for pest activity regularly
- Completing daily SQF inspection log
