About The Position

The Distribution Center Safety Trainer is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading safety training programs to ensure a safe, compliant, and productive work environment in the distribution center. This role involves training new and current employees in workplace safety procedures, equipment handling, hazard recognition, and compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations or safety training.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office programs and strong computer skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse equipment and operations.
  • Ability to make sound, independent judgments.
  • Capacity and desire to expand knowledge of software capabilities.
  • Take initiative to plan, organize, and complete assignments independently.
  • Able to work independently and work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Able to handle regular interruptions to serve the needs of others while maintaining focus on multiple priorities and short and long term deadlines.
  • Able to proactively seek out ways to improve upon existing methodologies.
  • Maintain the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with employees, maintaining a warm and professional manner with a positive employee relations and customer service mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to work across all shifts and occasionally on weekends when needed.
  • Certified in OSHA 10.
  • Forklift Trainer Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safety training sessions for warehouse personnel (new hire orientation, refresher training, equipment operation, etc.).
  • Conduct hands-on training for forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
  • Monitor compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements (OSHA) and partner with shift manager on corrective actions.
  • Perform routine safety audits and risk assessments within the warehouse and submit required reports.
  • Investigate workplace accidents/incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Partner with HR to maintain detailed records of training sessions, employee certifications, and safety compliance documentation.
  • Partner with warehouse supervisors and managers to reinforce a safety-first culture.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory changes and industry best practices.
  • Partner with HR to update Knowledge, Skills and Experience.
