Warehouse Route Driver
About The Position
Rexel USA is seeking a Warehouse Route Driver to join their team in Hayward, CA. This role is responsible for delivering products to and from customers, company branches/warehouses, and suppliers using a delivery van or box truck (no CDL required). The driver will ensure deliveries are prepared efficiently, materials are correct, and free of damage. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 3:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The level of the position (I, II, or Senior) and corresponding pay will be determined by the candidate's experience, knowledge, and capabilities. The company emphasizes that competent performance of essential duties, commitment to customer service, integrity, and teamwork are basic requirements.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must pass a pre-employment and annual review of the Motor Vehicle Record.
- Must obtain verification of non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire.
- Must not have had a suspended driver's license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years.
- Must not have any at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.
- Ability to handle loads with a combined weight not to exceed 26,000 GVW.
- Ability to handle basic issues and problems.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and familiarity with traffic and driver laws.
- Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent customer service skills.

- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- In lieu of experience, must attend company driver training.
Nice To Haves
- Senior Truck Driver will participate in the training of entry level Truck Drivers; and provides mentorship and coaching.
Responsibilities
- Inspect company vehicle for visual and operating defects and complete a daily inspection report.
- Keep company vehicle clean, serviced, and maintained, alerting supervisors to any needed repairs or service.
- Follow Department of Transportation (DOT), local, and state driving laws and regulations.
- Load or unload the vehicle, ensuring all materials for each order are correct in quantity and type, and free of damage before departure.
- Assist in preparing orders for delivery.
- Ensure all appropriate documentation is thoroughly completed at the time of delivery, including customer signature on delivery receipt, packing list, and branch/warehouse manifest.
- Pick up material returns from customers, inspecting their condition and verifying quantities and catalog numbers.
- Pick up materials from company suppliers.
- Senior Truck Drivers will train entry-level Truck Drivers, providing mentorship and coaching.
- May perform other job functions within a branch when required, such as counter sales, preparing and filling orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material, and maintaining branch equipment.
