About The Position

The Warehouse Receiver is responsible for accurately and efficiently receiving and putting away inbound material. This role involves performing general physical activities to load, unload, sort, and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment. The receiver will operate company forklifts, maintain a visual inbound freight schedule, and coordinate the off-loading of inbound freight. They will read work orders or receive oral instructions, continually update company software with bin or overflow location changes, and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Additionally, the role includes providing on-the-job training to new team members, assisting staff in locating products, providing information for health and safety incident reports, ensuring efficient space utilization, and handling fragile products with extra care. Other duties as assigned will also be part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written and an ability to impart knowledge.
  • Good organization skills
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience using computer systems.
  • Accuracy in picking and shipping orders
  • Organized team player with a strong aptitude to performing tasks accurately
  • Punctual, efficient and professional
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to work under time constraints and deadlines
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Solid basic computer skills

  • Previous warehouse experience will be considered an asset
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment an asset
  • Previous plumbing and/or electrical industry experience will be considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Accurately & efficiently receive and put away inbound material
  • Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment
  • Operate, navigate and drive all company forklifts
  • Maintain a visual inbound freight schedule
  • Co-ordinate the off-loading of inbound freight
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions for work assignments
  • Continually update company software of any bin or overflow location changes
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace through the entire warehouse
  • Provide on the job training to new/junior receiving team members as required
  • Assist staff members in the research and locating of product in the warehouse
  • Provide information for the completion of incident reports in relation to health and safety issues
  • Ensure efficient space utilization in stocking goods
  • Provide extra care in handling fragile china/porcelain products
  • Other duties as assigned
