About The Position

Ryder is immediately hiring a permanent, full-time Quality Coordinator I to ensure expert craftsmanship at our manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas. This manufacturing and construction position pays weekly at $18.00 per hour during training. We want the right Manufacturing Employee to join us at Ryder and work with State of the Art Equipment in the Safest Warehouse Environment. Products being handled include pallets, and equipment used includes a hammer, prybar, and power tools such as a nail gun, grinder, and saw. The role involves using a pneumatic nail gun, powered saw, and other powered/hand tools to repair or assemble pallets. This includes placing pallets on a repair table, removing defective boards, replacing them with new boards, and securing them into place. The work requires the operator to stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours) and lift up to 75 pounds throughout the entire shift. Various construction, building, carpentry, manufacturing, and warehouse skilled and semi-skilled labor roles at Ryder support distribution across the US. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years or more in Manufacturing or fast-paced warehouse preferred
  • Knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques, and documentation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices
  • Strong computer skills including QA applications, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Skills in math, personal computers, and spreadsheets
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and standards

Responsibilities

  • Apply and maintain quality requirements and standards for development and manufacturing products
  • Serve as the primary Quality Assurance resource to department supervisor(s) for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement
  • Execute and analyze quality-reporting measures
  • Report to management on quality issues, trends, and losses
  • Participate in quality audits
  • Ensure product quality to meet customer, state, and federal guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned
