About The Position

Safety-Kleen Systems in Metairie, LA, is seeking a Warehouse Production Operator Lead to join their safety-conscious team. This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which governs pay, schedule, and testing requirements. The role involves leading and supporting a team of Warehouse Production Operators in daily warehouse and production activities, promoting a strong safety-first culture, and ensuring efficient and accurate production and shipping goals are met.

Requirements

2-3 years warehouse/manufacturing experience
Ability to work in hot and cold weather conditions
Basic computer knowledge
Work well in a team environment

Nice To Haves

3+ years supervisory, Lead, or Foreman experience in a production environment preferred
Forklift experience preferred

Responsibilities

Lead and support a team of Warehouse Production Operators in daily warehouse and production activities while promoting a strong safety-first culture.
Provide day-to-day direction to operators regarding unloading/loading activities, inventory management, order fulfillment, and warehouse organization.
Assist with training new employees on standard operating procedures (SOPs), warehouse processes, equipment operation, and safety expectations.
Monitor workflow and productivity to ensure daily production and shipping goals are achieved efficiently and accurately.
Coordinate work assignments and prioritize tasks based on operational needs and production schedules.
Serve as a point of contact for operators by answering questions, troubleshooting operational issues, and escalating concerns to management as needed.
Promote compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and health & safety procedures.
Conduct routine inspections of warehouse operations, inventory practices, and housekeeping standards to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Assist leadership with inventory accuracy initiatives, quality control checks, and continuous improvement efforts.
Support employee development through coaching, mentoring, and reinforcing operational best practices.
Communicate effectively with management, production teams, shipping/receiving personnel, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, attendance, and adherence to safe work practices.
