About The Position

The Production Manager is responsible for managing warehouse production operations, including loading and unloading materials from company trucks and contractors, forklift operation, processing materials, shipping and receiving, inventory management, maintenance, and general cleaning. The role provides leadership and direction to employees responsible for production, distribution logistics, and maintenance. The manager develops and implements strategies to increase efficiency, maintain quality, and support continuous improvement while leading and growing the team. This position reports to the Operations Manager of the unit.

Requirements

• An associate degree or two additional years of experience in the field.
• At least four years of warehouse, manufacturing, shipping and receiving, or logistics experience.
• At least three years of supervisory experience, preferably in a similar setting.
• Forklift experience.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, supervisors, and employees.
• Ability to read, speak, write, and understand basic English.
• Ability to apply basic algebra concepts and collect and analyze production data.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions.
• Ability to operate a personal computer and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to operate a bin scale system for truck unloading and use a forklift for loading and unloading.
• Valid driver's license and ability to be insured according to Planet Aid's guidelines.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, and bend; regularly lift or move up to, and rarely more than, 75 pounds repetitively; and move heavy or bulky items. May need to walk or stand for long periods.

Nice To Haves

• OSHA forklift certification.
• Industrial equipment maintenance and/or bailer operation experience.
• Spanish language skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily production operations and participate in warehouse and production work, including operating forklifts and bailers.
• Manage warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, assigning work, discipline, performance reviews, and recommendations for salary adjustments or promotions.
• Oversee maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
• Monitor equipment and implement improvements to maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency.
• Maintain warehouse safety programs and provide a safe, clean workplace in compliance with OSHA and applicable local and state laws.
• Manage disposal of waste and recyclables.
• Analyze and implement process-flow improvements, including capabilities for growth.
• Monitor and report production KPIs and manage inventory.
• Meet production goals while adhering to labor and equipment budgets.
• Manage inventory, invoicing, and loading for outgoing shipments.
• Prepare warehouse productivity reports for management.
• Promote teamwork and cooperative effort.
• Help train and guide other Planet Aid employees.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and unobstructed work area.
• Understand and apply appropriate quality-improvement processes.
