About The Position

NFM’s Furniture Repairer is responsible for repairing, touching up and rebuilding all furniture products. Generally working with complex repairs ensuring that the product is looking top-notch and in sellable condition for our customers. Your work will directly impact our ability to help people create a lifestyle they love, for the people they love—because that’s what we love.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of Furniture repair experience
  • 1-2 years of customer service experience
  • 1-2 years of furniture, flooring, and/or appliance, electronics products experience
  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to lift/push/pull required weights
  • Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs
  • Pre-employment screening includes, but isn’t limited to, criminal background check

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Technical or Trade school certificate in Furniture repair

Responsibilities

  • Inspect product for defects and determine the complexity of the problem.
  • Repair furniture, including removing and installing covering, padding, webbing, and springs, as well as performing glass cutting.
  • Operate various power tools, including a sewing machine, to assist in repairs.
  • Match colors of stain and paint to a variety of finishes.
  • Complete in-home furniture repairs, making decisions on how to handle and negotiate with customers.
  • Operate a repair van.
  • Track and maintain inventory and document movement of merchandise.
  • Maintain housekeeping and ensure hazardous chemicals are properly labeled and stored according to government standards.
