About The Position

NAPA Auto Parts is seeking a skilled and energetic Warehouse Equipment Operator to join our growing team of professionals. Our equipment operators perform many different tasks; for example, receiving, replenishing, picking, and loading product as it is picked. Responsibilities include loading, unloading, moving, stacking, and staging product and materials using power equipment. Maintaining equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion is also a key responsibility. Daily inspection of assigned equipment is required. The role involves receiving/putaway, order picking, and loading. Operating all equipment, including Reach Truck, Order Selector, Double Walkie Rider, and Forklift, in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards is essential. Some equipment will reach up to 55ft in the air. Ensuring inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage, reporting quality variances as needed, and maintaining inventory control and security through appropriate records and reports are critical. Assisting in physical inventories and ensuring proper stock rotation are also part of the role. Maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area, assisting in maintaining the security of the warehouse, and complying with OSHA and other applicable standards are expected. Reporting issues and problems to Management is required. The role requires supporting and abiding by the company’s safety program and all safety initiatives, policies, and procedures. Must meet job standards, which may change as equipment, materials, and procedures change to allow for improvements or additional responsibilities for this position.

Requirements

  • Stamina to stand and walk for the entire work shift.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required.
  • 6 months prior work experience is a plus.
  • 6 months of prior Powered Industrial Equipment preferred.
  • Able to speak clearly and listen attentively.
  • Capable of recognizing and distinguishing letters and numbers (both visually and orally) and remembering their sequence.
  • Good basic math skills and the ability to identify both numeric and alphanumeric sequences accurately and rapidly for placing product in the proper locations.
  • Basic computer usage skills.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using power equipment.
  • Maintain Equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • Daily inspection on assigned equipment.
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
  • Efficiently stack and store the product in the appropriate areas.
  • Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and ready for shipment.
  • Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers or containers.
  • Operate all equipment, Reach Truck, Order Selector, Double Walkie Rider, Forklift in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipment are accurate and free of damage.
  • Report quality variances as needed.
  • Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that inventory control and security are maintained.
  • Assist in physical inventories.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
  • Comply with OSHA and other applicable standards.
  • Report issues and problems to Management.
  • Support and abide by the company’s safety program and all safety initiatives, policies and procedures.
