About The Position

Performs janitorial and light facility maintenance duties at assigned warehouse and dock areas including floors (sweeping, mopping, scrubbing), emptying trash and recycling, and general cleaning. Operates powered equipment such as forklifts, floor scrubbers (Zamboni), blowers, and power washers to maintain cleanliness, safety, and operational standards for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities.

Requirements

  • High School education/GED or equivalent work experience
  • One-year experience in janitorial services, or related field
  • Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, floor scrubbers (Zamboni), blowers, and power washers
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently
  • Due to the use of hazardous chemicals, this is a SAFETY SENSITIVE position

Responsibilities

  • Cleans up spills, debris, and unsafe conditions as needed throughout warehouse and dock areas.
  • Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or using powered floor scrubbers (Zamboni).
  • Uses blowers to maintain cleanliness in dock areas, trailer areas, and exterior spaces.
  • Operates forklifts as needed to move trash, pallets, or materials related to janitorial and facility upkeep.
  • Operates power washer as needed for deep cleaning.
  • Responsible for following and ensuring all safety rules are complied with and appropriate safety equipment is used.
  • Immediately takes action and/or reports any unsafe or potential hazards.
  • Performs pre-shift forklift and tipper machine inspection, to include fluid checks, safety precautions, etc.
  • Follows Lockout/Tagout procedure if equipment is deemed unsafe or inoperable and notifies leadership.
  • Notifies leader of supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Safeguards company property by reporting any incidents of theft or misappropriation or unauthorized possession of company property.
  • Notifies leader concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Cleans up spills, as needed.
  • Cleans career center and mission room, as instructed.
  • Gathers and empties trash and recycling.
  • Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
  • Dusts furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  • Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
  • Cleans walls and doors with appropriate cleaners.
  • Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • May be required to mix water and chemicals to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
  • Cleans up various bio-hazardous materials with appropriate cleansers, tools, and procedures.
  • Reports all team member injuries in a timely fashion including calling injury hotline, completing an incident report and notifying your leader.
  • Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.
