About The Position

Ferguson is seeking a Pipe Yard Associate to support the pipe yard at its new semi-automatic fabrication shop in Tamarac, Florida. The role involves picking, receiving, inspecting, storing, and organizing products; unloading trucks; operating forklifts and other powered industrial equipment; and assisting with shop and pipe yard operations as needed. The position is onsite and scheduled Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Work takes place outdoors in all weather conditions and temperatures, with frequent handling of heavy items.

Requirements

Forklift operator experience required.
Basic math skills required.
Highly organized and able to perform tasks with minimal direction.
Strong mechanical proficiency.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and temperatures.
Must constantly carry objects up to 50 pounds by hand.
Must constantly carry objects weighing 50 pounds or more using equipment.

Nice To Haves

Background in warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory.
Basic product knowledge of carbon steel pipe and pipe fittings.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy motorized material-handling equipment safely.
Accurately pick products ordered.
Coordinate the removal and replacement of worn components.
Accurately cycle count and thoroughly inspect orders.
Unload trucks using a forklift.
Put items away and receive them in the system.
Coordinate organization and reconfiguration of the yard.
Operate powered industrial equipment in accordance with OSHA guidelines and Ferguson safe operating procedures.
Assist with shop and pipe yard operations as needed.
