About The Position

Polyplex runs 24/7 with 12-hour shifts and is seeking a Warehouse Packing Operator for their Decatur plant. This role is responsible for planning, managing, controlling, and improving packing and palletizing processes for finished goods, as well as appropriate packing of in-process feed and repackaging finished goods as required. The operator will also manage material movement and outbound processes, including staging and organizing pallets, labeling, operating an overhead crane, stretch wrapping, scanning, and inventory management.

Requirements

Able to Bend, twist, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, push and pull.
Able to lift 50 lbs.
Able to reach in all directions.
Able to walk and stand for extended periods of time to cover 12-hour shifts.
Other physical requirements as needed for the job.

Responsibilities

Plan, manage, control & improve packing and palletizing of finished goods.
Appropriately pack in-process feed (for MET and secondary slitters).
Repack finished goods as required.
Stage and organize pallets per the run plan.
Take labels from the roll coming from the production area, verify information, and place the roll on the specified pallet.
Place each label on either end of the pallet end boards.
Operate the overhead crane to place the palletized roll on the conveyor belt.
Secure and stretch wrap the roll.
Scan the roll then print a pallet label and place on finished rolls.
Scan rolls received in the warehouse (on pack line and thru MHEs).
Troubleshoot the pack-line as required or coordinate with maintenance.
Maintain housekeeping of the packing area and pallet shed.
Manage inventory at point-of-use.
Perform other duties as assigned.
