We offer competitive compensation and benefits packages to all our Team Members. The Order Puller Associate will stock incoming merchandise and fill customer orders. At AFW, we are proud that customers can pick up their furniture and take it home the same day. You will be a critical part of fulfilling that promise to the customer. The Order Puller will safely operate a Stock Picker, Reach Truck, Down Forklift, and any other equipment necessary to transport merchandise for customers and other departments. We provide full training and certifications for all equipment.

Requirements

  • MUST BE 18 years or older.
  • Knowledge of the correct lifting/team lifting techniques.
  • Capability to perform the correct lifting/team lifting techniques.
  • Ability to work in multiple departments.
  • Ability to have a flexible schedule and work all shifts, holidays, and weekends.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Capacity to effectively work independently of direct supervision.
  • Capacity to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.
  • Capability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily.
  • Continuous use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, and pull all merchandise sizes up to 100 lbs. and the skill to handle/manipulate merchandise up to 250 lbs. frequently.
  • Lifting, gripping, bending, kneeling, stooping, and moving merchandise 8 hours or more daily.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and pre-employment background check upon job offer.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cherry pickers helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Stock incoming merchandise and fill customer orders.
  • Safely operate a Stock Picker, Reach Truck, Down Forklift, and any other equipment necessary to transport merchandise for customers and other departments.
  • Work at heights, filling orders 0 to 35 feet above the ground.
  • Be an ambassador for safety in the workplace.
  • Operate material handling equipment to move products within the warehouse.
  • Operate a radio frequency (RF) scanner.
  • Correctly use a hand truck.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates cooperatively and constructively.
