About The Position
US Foods is seeking motivated individuals to join their warehouse team as Order Pickers. This role is crucial for the company's success in the foodservice industry, focusing on safely and accurately selecting customer orders. The company emphasizes continuous growth, excellent training programs, and a commitment to promoting from within. The position is located in Manassas, VA, with a work schedule of Sunday through Thursday, starting in the evening until workload completion. The starting rate is $23.42/hr during training, increasing to $26.02/hr with 100% productivity, and the potential to earn up to $37/hr within the first year based on performance. Requirements
- Must be able to read and communicate in the English language (for trainings, conversations, safety/job-related coaching, reading labels, and entering information on reports).
- Able to work 8+ hour night shifts, typically Sunday – Thursday. Weekends and holidays may be required at times.
- Comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment ranging from -5 degrees to over 100 degrees.
- Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively.
- Ability to move 1,000+ cases of product during each shift.
Nice To Haves
- Recent experience (within past 6 months) in high endurance or highly physical activity or role (e.g., lifting/transferring patients, sports/fitness, farming, construction work).
- Experience selecting large scale orders in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Experience operating a motorized pallet jack or similar equipment.
Responsibilities
- Safely and accurately select customer orders.
- Build and wrap pallets to meet weekly standards for productivity and accuracy.
- Perform pre-shift equipment checks and safely operate an electric pallet jack.
- Carefully move products from racks to pallets directed by order selecting software and equipment.
- Validate that correct product has been selected and is damage free.
- Efficiently deliver products to the correct dock area and shrink wrap palletized orders.
- Team up to clear aisles of debris, stack empty pallets from slots in aisles, and return pallet jacks to the charging area.
