The Shipping Clerk position performs routine, non-routine and complex assignments and operates highly sophisticated equipment under general supervision. Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent and at least 18 years of age.
Excellent reading and comprehension skills.
Good math skills.
Good communication skills.
Must be safety-conscious.
Ability to follow directions.
Propensity to use good judgment in making independent decisions.
Self-motivated with high standards for performance.
Ability to work with various types of personalities.
Must have a positive attitude and be adaptable to the changing needs of the Company.
Possess physical strength and dexterity to perform job; able to lift 50-70 pounds; able to stand for 8-10 hours per day.

Prior warehouse or logistics experience preferred

Responsibilities

Understand and comply with HSE standards, AkzoNobel Life Saving Rules, waste management system, Product Stewardship procedure, distribution and road safety requirements, incident reporting, product SDS (MSDS), and proper PPE related HMIS system.
Actively participate in safety programs and perform daily checklists and 5S participation.
Read, understand and follow pick lists and BOL’s.
Pull finished goods from storage areas.
Put away raw materials in storage areas.
Safely drive and operate a forklift.
Load and unload trucks as needed.
Operate pumps for off-loading tankers.
Perform set-up and clean up for tasks.
General clean up and maintaining good housekeeping.
Consolidation and organization of the warehouses, and outside storage areas.
Other duties as assigned.
