The Warehouse Technician is responsible for the shipment, receipt, and distribution of materials in a timely and accurate manner. This role involves assisting with shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in materials, and storing them appropriately. The position also requires filing documentation and processing sales orders and invoices according to company procedures. The business area Mining is a global leader in supplying equipment and tools, parts, service, digital solutions, and sustainability-driving technologies for the mining and construction industries, with applications in rock drilling, rock cutting, loading and hauling, tunneling, and quarrying. This Warehouse Operator position is an onsite role in Fairbanks, AK.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent years of experience in a warehouse environment
  • 6 months related warehouse experience
  • Possesses a commitment to being a team player, and assumes responsibility for the team work / operational efficiency of the facility
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States on an indefinite basis without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain warehouse location system
  • Assist in cycle counting and physical inventory
  • Prepare export documentation as required
  • Maintain shipping supplies inventory
  • Arrange shipping/transport
  • Accept/reject vendor inventory transactions
  • Build sound relationships with the workshop team and internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations
  • Participate in customer on-call service as required
  • Expedite urgent orders to ensure customer receives when needed
  • Identify and report any unsafe work habits, workplace incidents and / or near misses
  • Comply with SMRT safety policies and applicable government, customer, or industry regulations or requirements
  • Accounts for all materials and supplies in the stores facilities; audits goods received into warehouse.
  • Oversees receipt, storage and shipment of materials, and related reporting in accordance with established procedures.
  • Prepares and coordinates schedules for shipping and receiving materials to control the flow of goods and regulate warehouse space.
  • Ensures the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and maintenance and protection of facilities and equipment.
  • Performs other relevant duties as assigned by Warehouse Supervisor
