About The Position

Receives, stores, and distributes cheese and items that come into the plant on trucks. This role involves various levels of responsibility within the warehouse, from basic material handling to shipping operations and SAP system usage. Employees are expected to comply with safety and food safety regulations, uphold company culture, and contribute to process improvements.

Requirements

  • Ability to run, or learn to run and troubleshoot all equipment in the Warehouse.
  • Excellent attendance and safety record.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Possess general understanding of export requirements and policies.
  • Ability to calculate correct percentages of product types to be used in product blends, based on existing recipes/formulas.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
  • Involves moderate physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
  • Should be able to judge distances and spatial relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, stores, and distributes cheese and items.
  • Operates and troubleshoots warehouse equipment, including robots and forklifts (small and large).
  • Manages different types of pallets (GMA, Heat Treated, CHEP) and boxes (Tosca, Kraft, Arena).
  • Handles labeling and relabeling of materials, including domestic and export requirements.
  • Performs racking, stacking, and consolidation of materials.
  • Conducts shipping operations for 40lb and 640lb products, including customer requirements and special instructions.
  • Operates Whey Warehouse and manages dispatch/driver check-in and check-out.
  • Performs basic SAP operations such as reprinting pick tickets and creating transfer orders.
  • Keeps records in accordance with good manufacturing practices and applicable laws.
  • Utilizes GPS processes, drives zero losses, and upholds company non-negotiables.
  • Complies with occupational safety and health standards.
  • Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (FSMA, SQF, FDA, PMO).
  • Researches issues and incidents collaboratively with internal teams, business partners, and customers.
  • Implements process improvements and procedural changes to eliminate non-value added activities.
  • Assists with training of new team members and facilitates standard operating procedure reviews.
  • Supports customer needs on an end-to-end basis and strives to meet or exceed SLA timelines.
  • Meets or exceeds key performance metrics.
  • Updates knowledge of products, product changes, processes, and services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
