About The Position

The Warehouse Operator - Tier 2 (12 Hr Days) position at Andersen Corporation is responsible for managing the flow of materials from receiving to shipping through the safe and efficient operation of a forklift and its attachments. This role involves ensuring accurate inventory management, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety and quality standards. The position is part of a team dedicated to creating a healthier, happier place to live through Andersen's portfolio of brands in the new residential, home improvement, and light commercial building sectors.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills- keyboarding, Windows
  • Understanding of product, parts and location
  • Understanding of related safety policies and procedures
  • Must be able to safely operate a PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) in accordance with company safety standards
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely push and/or pull up to 28 pounds of force
  • Climb stairs/steps at will
  • Obtain a variety of positions such as stooping, reaching, twisting, etc.
  • Ability to grasp and pinch frequently throughout the day
  • Work around and near moving equipment and machinery

Responsibilities

  • Put deliveries away in proper location in warehouse
  • Operate equipment in a safe and manner
  • Maintain PIT equipment in accordance with daily checklist
  • Operate a powered industrial truck (PIT) based on operations/department need
  • Stage NNL carts
  • Pull and review packing lists
  • Check received goods against purchase orders
  • Assure quality standards understood and they are met
  • Perform Safety audits
  • Follow standard work, control plans, and written work instructions
  • Coach and train new associates
  • Operate small machines as needed
  • Participate and sustain 5S activities
  • Participate in kaizen events and sustain improvements made from those events
  • Maintain storage areas
  • Disassemble flats if needed
  • Wrap & label loads as necessary
  • Attend and participate in appropriate training and development programs
  • Unloads trailers, identify, verify and sign for material received
  • Loads trailers and prepares shipping documentation as needed
  • Attend and participate in appropriate training and development programs
  • Load NNL trailers
  • Perform yard checks
  • Stage and load recycling
  • Pull safety stock orders
  • Load Priority trailers
  • Correspond in emails
  • May stack in veneering, cut at one of the cut saws, help with NCM product and shipping duties
