About The Position

Axalta Coating Systems is seeking a Warehouse Operator for their Shipping & Receiving department. This role is responsible for checking, processing, and clearing customer orders for shipment, as well as sorting, arranging, and labeling goods. The operator will receive and examine incoming and outgoing goods, wear safety gear as needed, and collaborate with procurement and sales departments to ensure product availability. Key responsibilities include maintaining inventory records, banding and shrink-wrapping drums, ensuring accuracy of inbound materials, communicating with various stakeholders, controlling inbound and outbound trucking logistics, and assisting with cycle counting. The position also involves maintaining and shipping FedEx packages, performing weekly cycle counts, supporting material movement to/from offsite warehouses, assisting with local training, and supporting import/export teams for international shipments.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years Warehouse experience.
  • 1 year Forklift Driving experience is required.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent skills with Warehouse Management Software is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to properly interpret shipping paperwork (BOLS, Packing Lists, Customs Paperwork, Trucking Paperwork, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft excel, word, outlook, TEAMS, SAP S4 Hanna, Customer specific portals.
  • Must be able to interact with Driver and ensure all shipping paperwork and placards are in order.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 2-3 years related job experience required.
  • Experience in customer service and or order fulfillment required.
  • Must be able to pass a Background Check & Drug Test

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and ship FedEx packages for entire site.
  • Perform weekly cycle count tasks.
  • Support movement of materials to and from offsite warehouse.
  • Supports local training processes as needed.
  • Supports import and export teams as needed for inbound raw materials or customer shipments leaving the United States.
